 Gail
Hazlehurst is a sculptor working in clay with a B.F.A. degree from the
University of Hawaii. Her sculptures have been exhibited in juried art exhibits on
Oahu and Maui. Gail’s work is primarily wall sculptures of various sizes, "Sea Spiral" sculptures up to 2 feet in height and a series of "Coral Head" sculptures about 1 foot tall. Her inspiration comes from the beautiful images absorbed from a lifetime of living on tropical islands. The ocean and the life forms within it, stretches of white beaches and the shells and corals cast onto them by the sea are all echoed in her work. |

Gail is also the owner of Creative Clay Company which coordinates and teaches clay hand-building classes for adults and children. She has taught classes at The Contemporary Museum in Honolulu, several private and public schools on Oahu, the Girl Scouts and for the home schoolers. |
