CLASS OUTLINE FOR
CHILDREN’S CLAY HANDBUILDING CLASS


 


 

CLASS 1:

A) A demonstration of the Slab, Coil and Pinch methods of clay handbuilding are shown.

B) Finished Slab, Coil and Pinch clay projects are made available for student viewing.

C) The first clay project is completed by the students.

 

 


CLASS 2:

A) Another demonstration of the Slab. Coil and Pinch methods of clay handbuilding are shown reflecting a higher level of difficulty.

B) Finished Slab, Coil and Pinch clay projects, reflecting a higher level of difficulty, are made available for student viewing.

C) The second clay project is completed by the students.
 

CLASS 3:

A) Bisque fired clay projects one and two are handed back to the students.

B) A demonstration of painting with underglazes and glazes are shown along with a discussion of realism and abstract art designs.

C) Clay projects one and two are painted by the students.


 

  CLASS 4:

A) Finished clay projects are handed back to the students.

B) A lecture of pottery techniques, a question and answer period and the finished clay projects are discussed.

C) Students take their finished clay projects home.
